Our research is dedicated towards the development of novel catalytic methods to improve functional group tolerance, selectivities and sustainability compared to conventional non-catalytic approaches. Additionally, these newly established protocols are applied in the synthesis of bioactive compounds such as pharmaceuticals and natural products. Eventually, mechanistic elucidations allow for a deepened understanding, which inspires further innovative developments.

Positions available

We are looking for new, prospective group members. If you are interested in organic chemistry, method development and synthesis of bioactive substances, you are very welcome to contact us (peter.huy[at]uni-rostock.de). Topics for Bachelor theses, practical courses, Master theses and research internships are available.

Two new PhD positions in the area of homogenous catalysis and natural product synthesis and radical chemistry, respectively, are available from October 1st 2020. The application deadline is 24th of July.
